Trading Risk Disclosure.
Important information about the risks of securities, options, futures and leveraged trading.
1. General Market Risk
Financial markets can move rapidly and unpredictably. Prices can gap, liquidity can disappear, volatility can expand and orders may execute at prices different from those expected. You can lose some or all of the capital committed to a trade, and leveraged products can produce losses faster than unleveraged investments.
2. Options Risk
Options are complex instruments. Buyers can lose the entire premium paid, including when an option expires worthless. Time decay, volatility changes, spreads and rapid changes in the underlying price can materially affect an option even when the directional thesis appears reasonable. Sellers of options may face assignment and, depending on the position, potentially substantial or theoretically unlimited losses.
Short-dated and same-day-expiration options can react especially quickly to changes in price, volatility and time. They are not appropriate for every trader.
Before trading exchange-traded options, review the Options Clearing Corporation’s current Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options.
3. Futures Risk
Futures are leveraged instruments. A relatively small market move can create a large percentage gain or loss relative to the margin posted. Adverse moves can result in margin calls, forced liquidation and losses that may exceed the amount initially deposited, depending on the account and product. Futures contracts also have expiration, settlement and contract-specific obligations that traders must understand.
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission warns that futures and options trading is volatile, complex and risky and that losses can exceed initial investment in some circumstances. Review current CFTC educational materials before trading leveraged futures products.
4. Execution and Technology Risk
Internet outages, broker outages, charting delays, stale market data, exchange halts, software errors, order-routing issues and connectivity failures can prevent or delay entries, exits or modifications. Stop orders and other protective orders do not guarantee execution at a particular price.
5. Alerts, Commentary and Software
PentHaus may publish watchlists, market briefs, trade ideas, levels, alerts, live commentary, charts, software-generated observations and educational examples. These may be delayed, incomplete, incorrect or no longer current when viewed. They are not individualized recommendations and should not replace your own analysis, broker confirmations or risk controls.
6. Past, Simulated and Example Results
Past performance is not indicative of future results. A profitable historical trade, screenshot, member example, coaching example or strategy illustration does not mean the same result will occur again. Hypothetical or simulated results have limitations because they may not reflect actual liquidity, slippage, psychology, execution constraints or real financial risk.
7. No Guarantee of Profit
No trading framework, alert service, course, coach, software tool or market-intelligence system can eliminate risk or guarantee profit. Losses, drawdowns and periods of poor performance are normal possibilities in trading.
8. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for determining whether trading is appropriate for your financial situation, experience, objectives and risk tolerance. Consider position size, maximum loss, leverage, liquidity, account rules, tax consequences and your ability to withstand losses before entering any trade. Consult appropriately licensed financial, legal or tax professionals when individualized advice is needed.
9. Third-Party Accounts and Prop Firms
If you trade through a brokerage, exchange, funded-trader program or proprietary trading firm, you are responsible for understanding that provider’s rules, fees, drawdown methods, restrictions, payout requirements and liquidation procedures. PentHaus does not control those third-party rules or account outcomes.
10. Educational Relationship Only
Participation in The Lobby, The Residence, The PentHaus Framework, The Private Floor, Top Floor beta programs or other PentHaus services does not transfer responsibility for trading decisions to PentHaus. You choose whether, when and how to act on market information.
